Why buying ultra cheap devices for Black Friday is a mistake
Here on this site we’re trying to offer you folks the best advices and deals available online for Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the weekend between the two. Notice that I’ve said the best, not the cheapest.
Stores and retailers will try to attract you with incredibly low prices. However, these cheap devices are most of the time crap. They are either products from 2-3 years ago, products that remained unsold during the last months or products with less features than the standard priced ones. Also, these cheap deals are usually door busters and run out of stock in just minutes, at most hours if the products are really crappy. Shops try to attract you inside with these, hopping that you’ll get carried by the wave and buy anything else you spot interesting, without checking if the price is really that good.
So, don’t get fooled by these tactics. Better stay at home and do you shopping online. It’s way comfortable and most of the time safer and will save you more money. Try to read carefully the specs lists of the products and only when you’re sure they offer enough for what you need, buy them.
For instance, let’s take laptops. There will be some for $299 or maybe even $249. But those will probably come with old Celeron processors, 1 GB of RAM, lousy storage and battery life. They won’t even be able to run Windows 7 properly. Would you want to get stuck with such a device and pay $300 for it, or better add another 100-200 bucks and get something at least decent. Or check the premium every day laptops that run for around 5-600 on Black Friday and will surely last you at least 2 years, running all the apps you want. I for one would think ahead and pick the later. You can see some very good deals in our laptops and netbooks deals section.
And the list can continue with TVs, Blu-ray players, GPS navigators and so on.
In the end, i have to repeat that we’re only trying to offer your the deals that are worth the long term investment. They might be more expensive than what others have to offer, but we will not feature the cheap and crappy products because we want you to be happy with your decisions, on the long term.
I’m not saying there are not good deals we might miss. They exist for sure. But we’ll do our best to get the ones you will find most useful. Those being said, i will wish you happy shopping. And don’t forget, be careful what you buy and don’t get carried away by the frenziness of Black Friday shopping spree.
